This organization offers opportunities to help those in need and or have an emergency crisis. The Samaritan House is funded, staffed and equipped with volunteers from the local churches. They depend upon these churches for the resources needed to assist person who may seek help from them. The following are some ways that the local church or individuals may be a part of this ministry:

This organization prepares a noon meal of soup and sandwiches five days a week for the homeless and/or needy. They also provide meals for senior citizens. The organization is supported by cash or food donations given from volunteers or churches. Volunteers are needed to help serve and/or prepare the food. Cakes may be donated anytime, but especially during seasonal holidays. For specific questions you may call the Red Door Kitchen
SAMFORD EXTENSION BIBLE STUDY
The Coosa River Baptist Association is a host site for classes offered through the Beeson Divinity School of Samford University. Classes are offered on a semester basis and follow a curriculum provided by Samford University. The courses are certificate level and provide educational opportunities for those who, for whatever reason, may not have attended college. TALLADEGA COUNTY JAIL MINISTRY
Volunteers from local churches provide weekly services and Bible studies at the Talladega County Jail. The ministry takes place on Wednesdays and Sunday mornings.
ALABAMA RACEWAY MINISTRIES
The Coosa River Baptist Association hosts a ministry site at the Talladega Super Speedway for the two major venues at the track. The ministry site provides a hospitality tent with various activities and a worship site for race fans. The site is located at the C&C Campground on the south side of the race track. Race fans are invited to attend the activities during the spring and fall races at the Talladega Super Speedway. For more information call (256) 362-7173.
FEDERAL PRISON MINISTRY
The Coosa River Baptist Association partners with Samford University to teach Bible study classes at the Federal Prison located in Talladega, Alabama. The activity is coordinated through the Prison Chaplain who coordinates all religious volunteer services.
CARPENTERS FOR CHRIST
Volunteers from the Coosa River Baptist Association participate in mission projects with building and reconstruction needs. Locally they provide minor repairs and the construction of wheel chair ramps for churches and families.
DISASTER RELIEF
The Coosa River Baptist Association partners with the Alabama State Convention in disaster relief ministries in the following ways. The association has teams trained in clean-up and recovery, shower trailer, child care and pastoral counseling. Volunteers have served during the relief recovery for Hurricane Charlie in Arcadia, Florida; Hurricane Ivan in Robertsdale, Alabama; and Hurricane Katrina: Mobile, Alabama; Lafayette, Louisiana, and Pascagoula, Mississippi.
